Agorafobia

Since 2010 I started to focus on individual identity in relation to the collective one. The series are called Agoraphobia and the projects are in progress. The engine that builds the image is in the sense of loss that occurs when facing the crowd. The feeling becomes stronger when each member of the crowd is identical to any other, therefore in all my compositions the characters are poses of the same individual. Collective will and action result from the repetitive hypostasis and attitudes. Variations are becoming unnoticeable in relation to the crowd.

The themes chosen for these projects are very popular in Western culture, so by not drawing attention to a story I push towards exploring the crowd and searching to define individual identity in relation to the collective one. Of course their have to be lots of people, therefore themes such as Revelation, Sodom and Gomorrah, the departure from Egypt (Let My People Go) and the Tower of Babel.

The technical targets search the flexible and undefined borders between drawing and painting. Evolution can be seen while probing from work to work, from solutions that use only black pen and colored surfaces or trying to introduce a line drawing to its loss in a  spot color.


Din Anul 2010 am inceput sa fiu preocupat de identitatea individuala in raport cu cea colectiva. Agorafobia este titlul seriei de proiecte la care inca lucrez. Motorul care construieste imaginile se afla in sentimentul de pierdere care apare in momentul raportortarii la o multime. Sentimentul se accenctuaeza in momentul in care fiecare membru al multimii este identic cu oricare altul, de aceea toate personajele compozitiilor mele sunt impostaze ale aceluiasi individ. Vointa si actiunea colectiva rezulta din repetitivitatea ipostazelor si atitudinilor. Variatiile acestora devin insesizabile in raport cu multimea.

Temele alese pentru aceste proiecte sunt foarte cunoscute in cultura vestica, folosind acest lucru pentru a nu atrage atentia asupra unei povesti sau intamplari ci pentru a o indrepta spre cautarile de definire a identitatii individuale in raport cu cea colectiva. Binenteles ca temele trebuie sa cotina multimi de personaje, cum ar fi, Apocalipsa, Sodoma si Gomora, Plecarea din Egipt sau Turnul Babel.

In paralel cautarile tehnice vizeaza granita flexibila si nedefinibila intre desen si pictura. Evoluția tatonarilor se poate vedea in timp de la lucrare la lucrare, de la rezolvări in care folosesc doar penita si negru încercând introducerea suprafetelor colorate sau de la un desen de linie la pierderea acesteia in pată de culoare.
